To efficiently and effectively reduce the uncertainty inherent in front-end of innovation processes, recent literature emphasizes new approaches that facilitate rapid knowledge generation learning such as design thinking, lean innovation, pretotyping. However, these differ their conceptualizations and, despite popularity, empirical evidence on performance relevance for established organizations is limited. In this research, we propose validity testing (RVT), which conceptualize harmonize existing toward a unique comprehensive set activities necessary to equivocality phase enable planned flexibility. Drawing information processing theory, argue implementing RVT also increase probability achieving outcomes superior quality time within budget. We further effectiveness depends upon internal external environmental factors. multirespondent data collected from 1022 informants 129 firms, find approach achieve higher programs, technological turbulence organization's long-term orientation risk propensity. contribute by conceptualizing Furthermore, overcome shortcomings studies popular relied primarily anecdotal or case study imply generalizability effectiveness.
